Letlive Albums
Letlive, stylized letlive., was an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band's final lineup consisted of lead vocalist Jason Aalon Butler (son of Aalon Butler, vocalist and guitarist of the soul group Aalon), guitarist Jeff Sahyoun, bassist Ryan Jay Johnson and drummer Loniel Robinson. Butler was the band's only constant member. The band has released four full-length albums and one EP, with their final album ''If I'm the Devil'' being released on June 10, 2016. The band was last signed to Epitaph Records. Letlive released their first EP ''Exhaustion, Salt Water, and Everything in Between'' in 2003 and their first LP ''Speak Like You Talk'' in 2005. Their second album, ''Fake History'' was released in 2010. Upon its re-release on Epitaph in 2011, the album received critical praise and was also added to ''Rock Sounds ''101 Modern Classics''. ''If I'm the Devil...'' is the fourth and final studio album by American rock band Letlive, released globally through Epitaph Records on June 10, 2016. Recorded throughout 2015, it is their first album since the departure of guitarist and percussionist Jean Nascimento, who had been a member of the band from 2007 to 2014. Background On September 25, 2015, the band posted a tweet confirming that they had completed their fourth album and that it would be released in 2016. On the same day, they also confirmed that further additions to their 'Renditions' project/album would be put on hold temporarily in order to focus on the new album. ''Alternative Press'' is an American entertainment magazine primarily focused on music and culture, now based in Los Angeles, CA. It generally provides readers with band interviews, photos, and relevant news. It was founded in 1985 by Mike Shea in Cleveland, OH. The company is now looked after by MDDN. Beginnings The first issue of ''Alternative Press'' was distributed at concerts in Cleveland, Ohio beginning in June 1985 by ''APs founder, Mike Shea to advocate bands playing underground music. The name for the magazine, ''Alternative Press'', was not a reference to the alternative rock genre, but referred to the fanzine being an alternative to the local press. ''Front'' was a British men's magazine. First published by Cabal Communications in 1998, it was created to rival IPC's publication '' Loaded'', catering to a demographic of 16- to 25-year-old males. It began as part of the British " lads' mag" genre of magazines, though the covers rejected this description with the statement "Front is no lads' mag". Whilst a major selling point was the photo-shoots of models, the magazine also focused heavily on music, films, gadgets and games, plus sections on fashion and sport. Glamour shoots within the magazine usually involved well-known models rather than celebrities. Brett Gurewitz
Brett W. Gurewitz (born May 12, 1962), nicknamed Mr. Brett, is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist of Bad Religion. He is also the owner of the music label Epitaph Records and a number of sister labels. He has produced albums for Bad Religion as well as Epitaph Records labelmates NOFX, Rancid, and Pennywise, among others. Gurewitz also had a project called Error, which also featured Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross, and Greg Puciato. He is also the co-founder of comic book and graphic novel publisher, Black Mask Studios. Gurewitz founded Bad Religion in 1980 with Greg Graffin, Jay Bentley and Jay Ziskrout. After releasing two albums and one EP, Gurewitz left Bad Religion in 1983, but rejoined three years later, and recorded five more albums with the band before they signed to Atlantic Records in 1993. Oliver Scott Sykes (born 20 November 1986) is a British singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Bring Me the Horizon. He also founded the apparel company Drop Dead Clothing, and created a graphic novel. Early life Sykes was born on 20 November 1986, in Ashford, Kent, England. As an infant, he moved to Australia with his parents, Ian and Carol Sykes, moving between Adelaide and Perth during a period of about six years. Bring Me the Horizon (often abbreviated as BMTH) are a British rock band formed in Sheffield in 2004. ''The Blackest Beautiful'' is the third studio album by American rock band Letlive. It was released by Epitaph Records on July 9, 2013. Recorded between June 2012 and January 2013, the album used four drum sessions, and went through ten recording engineers before settling on Stephen George. The drums were recorded with session musician Christopher Crandall, in the absence of the band having a permanent drummer at the time. The album incorporated a variety of music styles based on its members, including punk rock, funk, and soul; it was mastered and mixed to have a "more human" and "organic" sound. Although the album was not expected to sell well because it was streamed for free prior to release, it still debuted in the United States at number 74 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and number six on the Hard Rock Albums chart, with nearly five thousand copies sold. Fake History
''Fake History'' is the second studio album by American rock band Letlive and the first written and recorded with Jason Aalon Butler (vocals), Jean Nascimento (guitar), Jeff Sahyoun (guitar), Ryan Jay Johnson (bass guitar) and Anthony Rivera (drums). Originally released on Tragic Hero Records in April 2010, it was re-released by Epitaph Records April 12, 2011, with three additional tracks. Lyrically, the band didn't write the album with a particular political stand point and wanted the album to stimulate political, emotional and intellectual awareness. Upon its re-release on Epitaph, the album received favorable reviews, generating an aggregated score of 76/100. British publication ''Rock Sound'' added ''Fake History'' into their ''101 Modern Classics''. On April 13, 2020, the tenth anniversary of the album's original release, the band released a collection of demos for tracks that were eventually worked and finalised to feature on the album.
