Richard Lestock
Admiral Richard Lestock (22 February 1679 – 17 December 1746) was an officer in the Royal Navy, eventually rising to the rank of Admiral. He fought in a number of battles, and was a controversial figure, most remembered for his part in the defeat at the Battle of Toulon, and the subsequent court-martial. Family and early years Lestock is believed to have been born on 22 February 1679, though he may have been born some years previously. He was the second son of Richard Lestock (d. 1713) and his wife, Rebecca (d. 1709). His father had been magistrate for Middlesex, and commander of a number of merchant ships. On 26 December 1690, the father was among those invited by the Admiralty to volunteer for naval service, which he did. On 6 January 1691 Lestock's father was appointed to command HMS ''Cambridge''. Lestock Adams
Lestock Handley Adams (10 September 1887 – 22 April 1918) was an English first-class cricketer who played for Cambridge University between 1908 and 1910. Six of his games attained first-class status, and in these he took 17 wickets and scored 61 runs. Born in Ormskirk, in Lancashire, he was a gentlemen cricketer who played for the Gentlemen of England and various representative teams. Emigrating to Canada, he served in the armed forces during World War I, and was killed in Placaut Wood, France aged 30. Playing career The son of Reverend Henry Frederick Spencer Adams and Ethel Emma Louisa Reid, Adams lived in Congresbury, Somerset in his early years, as recorded in the 1891 census. Lestock Robert Reid (12 August 1799 – 27 October 1878) was an English colonial administrator who was Governor of Bombay from 1846 to 1847 during the rule of the East India Company. He served in the Bombay Civil Service from 1817 to 1850 and was President of the The Asiatic Society of Mumbai, Bombay Branch of The Asiatic Society from 1846 –49. Lestock Graham DesBrisay
Lestock Graham DesBrisay (September 3, 1920 – 1988) was a Canadian businessman and a politician in the Province of New Brunswick. He served as the Governor of the Atlantic Provinces Chambers of Commerce from 1958 through 1959. DesBrisay was born in 1920 in Campbellton. Almost always referred to as "L.G. DesBrisay", in the 1960 New Brunswick general election, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly as the Liberal Party candidate in the Moncton City riding. He was immediately appointed by new Premier Louis Robichaud to the Cabinet as Minister of Finance. Lestock G. DesBrisay was reelected in 1963 and on July 8 was given the additional responsibility for the Department of Industry, serving as its Minister until April 1, 1968.
