"Les Mots" (English: "The Words") is a 2001 song recorded as a duet by the French singer-songwriter Mylène Farmer and the English soul singer Seal. It was the first single from her best of album, '' Les Mots'', and was released on 13 November 2001. It was Farmer's third duet, after those with Jean-Louis Murat in 1991 and Khaled in 1997, and her first international duet. "Les Mots" is a bilingual song, containing verses in French (sung by Farmer) and in English (by Seal). In terms of sales, "Les Mots" is Farmer's fourth biggest success in France, behind "Désenchantée", "Pourvu qu'elles soient douces" and "Sans contrefaçon". Mylène Jeanne Gautier (; born 12 September 1961), known professionally as Mylène Farmer (), is a Canadian-born French singer, songwriter, occasional actress, writer, and entrepreneur. Having sold more than 30 million records in France, she is among the most successful recording artists of all time in that country. She holds the record for the most number one hit singles in the French charts, with twenty-one to date – eight of which were consecutive. ''Mylènium Tour'' is the third live album by Mylène Farmer, released on 5 December 2000. Background After having ending her third successful tour whose last shows were held in Russia on 7 March 2000, Farmer rested, and then decided to release an album and a DVD retracing her concert. With Bertrand Châtenet, she participated in the audio mixing of the live album and also worked on the bonus available on the DVD. The album, whose release was originally scheduled for September, was finally marketed on 4 December, after several postponements, since its preparation needed a lot of time. The day before, the Fnac and Virgin stores of the Champs-Elysées organized a special evening by opening at midnight to allow fans to purchase the various supports of the album and the only single "Dessine-moi un mouton" which was released at the same time. Emily Elizabeth Dickinson (December 10, 1830 – May 15, 1886) was an American poet. Little-known during her life, she has since been regarded as one of the most important figures in American poetry. Dickinson was born in Amherst, Massachusetts, into a prominent family with strong ties to its community. A maxi single or maxi-single (sometimes abbreviated to MCD or CDM) is a music single release with more than the usual two tracks of an A-side song and a B-side song. The first maxi singles Mungo Jerry's first single, "In the Summertime" was the first maxi single in the world.
