Carl Heinrich Hopffer
Carl Heinrich Hopffer (1810–1876) was a German entomologist who specialised in Lepidoptera. Hopffer was a curator (Custos) at the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin. Butterflies are insects in the macrolepidopteran clade Rhopalocera from the Order (biology), order Lepidoptera, which also includes moths.
