Leonel Duarte Plat, (born 1 August 1987) is a Cuban retired footballer. Club career Duarte played his entire career for his provincial side Ciego de Ávila, except for a season in Germany with amateur side SV Einheit 1875 Worbis. International career He made his international debut for Cuba in a July 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup match against the United States and has earned a total of 40 caps, scoring 6 goals. He represented his country in 7 FIFA World Cup qualification matches (1 goal) and played at 2 CONCACAF Gold Cup final tournaments. Ciego De Ávila
Ciego de Ávila City () is a city in the central part of Cuba and the capital of Ciego de Ávila Province. The city has a population of about 497.000, in a municipality of 756,373. Geography Ciego de Ávila lies on the Carretera Central highway and on a major railroad. Its port, Júcaro, lies south-southwest on the coast of the Gulf of Ana Maria of the Caribbean Sea, in the adjacent municipality of Venezuela. The city is located about east of Havana and west of the city of Camagüey. It was part of the Camagüey Province until 1976, when Fidel Castro's government made Ciego de Ávila the capital of the newly created Ciego de Ávila Province. 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualification – CONCACAF Second Round
The second round of qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup from the CONCACAF section featured the 13 top-ranked CONCACAF teams in the FIFA World Rankings as of May 2007, along with the 11 winning teams from the First Round. The draw took place on 25 November 2007 in Durban, South Africa. Format In this round 12 of the remaining 24 teams would be eliminated. There were 12 ties and the winners advanced to the next round. All games were scheduled to be played in home and away format. Further organisation were involved in the draw, with the 12 ties grouped into three groups of four – each feeding into a separate Third Round group. Within each group of four ties, one tie included a team ranked 1–3, one included a team ranked 4–6 and two included teams ranked 7–12.
