Lembit Lõhmus
Lembit Lõhmus (born 25 September 1947) is an Estonian printmaker. He born in Mustla, Viljandi County. In 1969, he began studies at the Tartu Art School and graduated ''cum laude'' from the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR in 1975. From 1975 to 1977 he worked at the Art Museum of Estonia as the head of the Department of Applied Arts. From 1977 until 1988, he worked as an interior designer. 1989-1992 he was the president of Tallinn Bookplate Club. From 1989 until 2003, he was a freelance printmaker. From 2003 until 2010, he worked at Eesti Postmark and designed over two hundred postage stamps for six countries. He has created over five hundred ex libris and small prints in wood, copper and steel engravings. Mustla
Mustla is a small borough (') in Viljandi Parish, Viljandi County, Estonia. As of 2011 Census, the settlement's population was 818. 1938–1979 Mustla was a town with town privileges. In June 2018, a plaque commemorating Alfons Rebane was unveiled on the wall of a private building in Mustla where he had lived. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs protested the unveiling. Art Museum Of Estonia
The Art Museum of Estonia ( et, Eesti Kunstimuuseum) was established in 1919. Originally based in Kadriorg Palace, the museum has expanded across several sites and today exhibits both international and local art works. At the end of the 1970s, in the 1980s the first branches of the Art Museum of Estonia were founded. Starting in 1995, all of the branches offer different educational programmes for children and young people. Ex Libris(Bookplate)
An ''Ex Libris'' (from ''ex-librīs'', ), also known as a bookplate (or book-plate, as it was commonly styled until the early 20th century), is a printed or decorative label pasted into a book, often on the front endpaper, to indicate ownership. Simple typographical bookplates are termed "book labels". Bookplates often bear a motif relating to the book's owner, such as a coat-of-arms, crest, badge, motto, or a design commissioned from an artist or designer. The name of the owner usually follows an inscription such as "from the books of..." or "from the library of...", or in Latin, "". Bookplates are important evidence for the provenance of books. The most traditional technique used to make bookplates is burin engraving. Estonian Euro Coins
Estonian euro coins feature a single design for all eight coins. This is a design by Lembit Lõhmus and features a silhouette map of Estonia together with the word Eesti (Estonia) and twelve stars, symbolic of the European Union, surrounding the map. This was the winning design in a public vote of ten announced in December 2004. Estonian euro coins entered circulation on 1 January 2011.
