Leksands IF Dam
Leksands Idrottsförening Dam or Leksands IF Dam are a professional ice hockey team in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). They play in Leksand, a town in the western-central Swedish province of Dalarna, at the Tegera Arena. Until 2021, the organisation ran a second women's side, called Leksands IF Dam 2, which competed in the Damettan Västra. History The women's section of Leksands IF was founded in 1998. The 2008 season saw a leap in success for the club, as it earned promotion to the Riksserien, and saw Cecilia Östberg and Klara Myrén become the first two Leksands players to represent the Swedish national women's team. In 2012, the club finished in 7th place, and was forced to compete in the relegation playoffs, but managed to keep its place in the SDHL. Leksand Municipality
Leksand Municipality (''Leksands kommun'') is a municipality in Dalarna County in central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Leksand. In 1974 "old" Leksand was amalgamated with ''Ål'' and reunited with ''Siljansnäs'' (which had been separated from it in 1875). Geography The municipality is located alongside the Österdalälven, (''Österdal River''), and the town is at the southern shore of lake Siljan. Leon Reuterström
Leon Reuterström (born 30 November 1996) is a Swedish former ice hockey goaltender and advocate for transgender inclusion in sports. From 2012 to 2018, he played for Leksands IF Dam in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL; previously called Riksserien), the top flight of Swedish women's hockey, before coming out to the public as a transgender man and retiring to pursue his medical transition. Playing career Reuterström began his career with Almtuna IS of the Division I (renamed Damettan in 2015) and women's ice hockey AllEttan (). In 2012, he signed with Leksands IF, splitting the 2012–13 season between the team's top Riksserien side and the B-side playing in Damettan. 2019–20 SDHL Season
The 2019-20 SDHL Season was the 13th season of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). The season began in September 2019 and ended in February 2020. The playoffs began a week after the end of the regular season, but the finals were cancelled due to the 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak. HV71 were regular season champions, and due to face Luleå HF/MSSK in the finals. Göteborg HC and Modo Hockey finished at the bottom of the table, but were able to avoid relegation to Damettan in the Playoffs to the SDHL. Brynäs IF defender Lara Stalder led the league in points with 71 and was named league MVP. Sofia Engström
Sofia Engström (born 3 July 1988) is a Swedish ice hockey defenceman and member of the Swedish national ice hockey team, currently playing with Modo Hockey Dam of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). As of the conclusion of the 2020–21 SDHL season, she is the longest tenured player in league history, having played 396 games across fourteen SDHL seasons, Career Engström joined Leksands IF during the 2007–08 Riksserien season. ''Expressen'' (''The Express'') is one of two nationwide evening newspapers in Sweden, the other being '' Aftonbladet''. ''Expressen'' was founded in 1944; its symbol is a wasp and its slogans are "it stings" or "''Expressen'' to your rescue". SDE Hockey
SDE Hockey are a Swedish ice hockey club in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). They play in the Enebyberg area of Danderyd Municipality in Metropolitan Stockholm at Enebybergs Ishall. History The club was formed in 2007 from the merger of the ice hockey sections of Stocksunds IF, Danderyds SK, and Enebybergs IF, the initials of which form the club's name. The club first earned promotion to the SDHL in 2014. They have stayed in the league since, although were forced to play in the relegation series in each of their first five SDHL seasons. Danielle Stone
Danielle Stone (born August 20, 1990) is a Canadian ice hockey forward. She most recently played in the 2022–23 season of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) with HV71. Playing career University Across 120 games with the Saskatchewan Huskies of the University of Saskatchewan, Stone scored 71 points. She was a Canada West All-Rookie selection in 2008–09. Professional She was drafted 16th overall by the Calgary Inferno in the 2013 Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) Draft, who she would sign her first professional contract with. In her rookie CWHL season, she scored 25 points in 24 games, as the Inferno made the Clarkson Cup finals for the first time. Anna Borgqvist
Anna Borgqvist (born 11 June 1992) is a Swedish retired ice hockey forward and the head coach of Leksands IF 2 in the Nationella Damhockeyligan (NDHL). As a member of the Swedish national ice hockey team, she participated in five IIHF Women's World Championships and two Winter Olympic Games.
