Leila Khastoo
Leila Khastoo is an artist, musician and curator based in Los Angeles, California. She has exhibited or performed at the Hammer Museum (Los Angeles) and Kunsthalle Gwangju ( South Korea). Career Art curation After working at Gagosian and Mary Goldman galleries, Khastoo founded her own space on Sunset Blvd in 2008 that emphasized the critical content of art and art making, with an art historical approach to programming. The gallery was featured in '' Blackbook'', the '' New York Times'' and '' Wallpaper'' magazine's U.S. Top 40 for 2009. The gallery’s inaugural show ''The Crack Up'' featured work by Vito Acconci, Hans Bellmer, Pierre Molinier, Bas Jan Ader and Francesca Woodman among others. June Wayne
June Claire Wayne (March 7, 1918 – August 23, 2011) was an American painter, printmaker, tapestry innovator, educator, and activist. She founded Tamarind Lithography Workshop (1960–1970), a then California-based nonprofit print shop dedicated to lithography. Early life and career Wayne was born in Chicago on March 7, 1918, to Dorothy Alice Kline and Albert Lavine, but the marriage ended shortly after Wayne's birth and she was raised by her single mother and grandmother, both refugees from the violent antisemitism and pogroms of Belarus and Imperial Russia. Wayne had aspirations to be an artist and dropped out of high school at the age of fifteen to pursue this goal. Zoe Leonard
Zoe Leonard (born 1961) is an American artist who works primarily with photography and sculpture. She has exhibited widely since the late 1980s and her work has been included in a number of seminal exhibitions including Documenta IX and Documenta XII, and the 1993, 1997 and 2014 Whitney biennials. Daniel Joel Tull (born 1966) is a contemporary American painter, sculptor and musician who lives and works in Los Angeles. Early life Tull was born in San Bernardino, California and attended Fairfax High School. In high school he met Michael Jagosz, Tracy Ulrich and Robert Gardner and they formed the band Pyrrhus and played together for two years. Tull left Pyrrhus to attend the San Francisco Art Institute. Jim Shaw (born in 1952) is an American artist. His work is held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Susan Hiller (March 7, 1940 – January 28, 2019) was an American-born artist who lived in London, United Kingdom. Her art practice included installation, video, photography, performance and writing.
