Leicester Sound was an Independent Local Radio station which broadcast to Leicestershire. Sara Blizzard
Sara Louise Blizzard (born 17 August 1970 in Coventry, Warwickshire) is a weather presenter for East Midlands Today. She regularly presents the weather forecasts for Midlands Today and BBC North West Tonight. She grew up in Coventry and trained in Dance and Drama when at the independent Pattison College school in east Coventry. Her broadcasting experience began when she presented a Sunday afternoon programme on the hospital radio station at Walsgrave General Hospital in Coventry. John Peters (disc Jockey)
John Peters (born in Ashford, Middlesex) is a British disc jockey and long established personality in the East Midlands region. Known for his distinctive voice, he has presented shows on many of the region's radio stations, including Radio Trent, GEM-AM, Saga 106.6 FM and 106.6 Smooth Radio, Radio2XS and Gravity FM in Grantham, Lincolnshire . He currently presents three shows on Boom Radio, Fridays at 6pm, as well as a show on Saturday afternoons called John's Jukebox, between 4:00pm and & 7:00pm also The Vintage Charts on Sunday at 12 noon. David Lloyd (Broadcaster)
David Lloyd is an English radio presenter and a former radio executive. Biography Lloyd began his radio career in December 1977 on Nottingham Hospitals' Radio, from which he had previously been turned away for being too young. He joined Radio Trent in 1980. At Trent, Lloyd presented the weekday afternoon show, and later, the mid-morning show, after Dale Winton left the station. Following a spell in junior management as Presentation Co-Ordinator, he then moved to Leicester Sound as Deputy Programme Controller in 1987 and subsequently as General Manager. During this time, Lloyd also presented the weekday morning show and was its programme controller. In 1988, he oversaw the split of the FM and AM frequencies which saw Leicester Sound's AM signal switch to the new GEM AM service, and FM remain as Leicester Sound, albeit under the name of 'Sound FM'. Boom Radio (also Boom Radio UK) is an independent, commercial, national radio station in the United Kingdom. From 2010 to 2014, Smooth Radio was an independent, commercial, national radio station in the United Kingdom. Owned by Real and Smootha company formerly known as GMG Radiothe station was aimed at the over-40 demographic, and competed for its audience with BBC Radio 2. It was broadcast on the DAB Digital Radio Digital 1 national multiplex, Sky, Freesat, Freeview, Virgin Media, online and on regional FM and DAB frequencies in the North West, London, North East, West Midlands, Scotland and East Midlands. Nationally the station attracted a weekly average audience of 3 million. The station opened in 1990 as 102.2 Jazz FM in London, and a second Jazz FM branded station was launched four years later in Manchester. BBC Radio Bristol is the BBC's local radio station serving Bristol, Bath and North & North East Somerset. It broadcasts on FM, DAB, digital TV and via BBC Sounds from studios at Broadcasting House in Bristol. Graham Torrington
Graham Torrington (born 1960) is a British radio presenter and broadcaster. Radio work Romantica After starting out as a hospital radio presenter, Torrington joined Birmingham's BRMB in the 1980s to cover an overnight programme for Steve Dennis. He was with the station for several years during the late 1980s and early 1990s, and through most of his tenure there presented a late night programme of love songs called ''Romantica''. The show had previously been hosted by Charley Neal, who went on to become a weather presenter at Central Television. Torrington presented the programme on Saturdays for a while after Neal, but moved to host the station's lunchtime show in 1989, as well as a Sunday morning programme.
