Legia Warszawa (), known in English as Legia Warsaw, is a Polish multi-sports club based in Warsaw, Poland. Legia was formed between 5 and 15 March 1916 during military operations in World War I on the Eastern Front in the neighborhood of Maniewicze in Volhynia, as the main football club of the Polish Legions. The team had started its first training earlier in the spring of 1915, in the city of Piotrków Trybunalski. In July 1916, due to the Brusilov Offensive, Legia permanently moved to the capital city of Warsaw. The "Legia" has several teams in many sports, the most famous of which are: the football club and its reserve team; the ice hockey club; the basketball club and the volleyball club. The Stadion Wojska Polskiego (, en, Polish Army Stadium), officially named Stadion Miejski Legii Warszawa im. Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego ( eng, The Marshall Józef Piłsudski's Municipal Stadium of Legia Warsaw) in Warsaw, Poland, is an all-seater, highest fourth category football-specific stadium. Legia Warszawa Sekcja Koszykówki (in English: Legia Warsaw Basketball Section) is a Polish men's basketball club, based in Warsaw. The team currently plays in the PLK, the Polish first division. The club was established in 1929 as the basketball section of the military multi-sport club of Legia Warsaw. Legia Warszawa (), known in English as Legia Warsaw, is a Polish amputee football club founded in 2019 as a section of the Legia Warsaw sports club. The team was created as a result of the transformation of Gloria Varsovia, existing since 2016, which existed after the dissolution of Lampart Warsaw. History At the end of April 2019, Legia took part in the beginning of the new season of Amp Futbol Ekstraklasa as the defender of the championship won by Gloria Varsovia. Iga Świątek
Iga Natalia Świątek (; born 31 May 2001) is a Polish professional tennis player. She is currently ranked world No. 1 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). Świątek is a three-time major singles champion, having won the French Open in 2020 and 2022 and the US Open in 2022. She is the first player representing Poland to win a major singles title. Zofia Klepacka
Zofia Teresa Noceti-Klepacka (born 26 April 1986) is a Polish windsurfer and a political far-right media personality. She won the Windsurfing World Championships in 2007 and participated in three editions of the Olympic Games, winning the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Amputee football is a disabled sport played with seven players on each team (six outfield players and one goalkeeper). Outfield players have lower extremity amputations, and goalkeepers have an upper extremity amputation. Outfield players use loftstrand (forearm) crutches, and play without their prosthesis.
