Legends Of Today
"Heroes Join Forces" is the second Arrowverse crossover event that features episodes of the television series ''The Flash'' and ''Arrow'' on The CW. The event began on December 1, 2015, with ''The Flash'' episode "Legends of Today" and concluded the following day with the ''Arrow'' episode "Legends of Yesterday". The episodes feature characters from ''Legends of Tomorrow'', which was being developed as a spin-off. The crossover sees Barry Allen / Flash and Oliver Queen / Arrow team up to take on Vandal Savage, who is looking for Kendra Saunders and Carter Hall, the reincarnations of Hawkgirl and Hawkman. The Arrowverse is an American superhero media franchise and a shared universe that is centered on various interconnected television series based on DC Comics superhero characters, primarily airing on The CW as well as web series on CW Seed. The series were developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Geoff Johns, Ali Adler, Phil Klemmer, Salim Akil, Caroline Dries and Todd Helbing. Set in a shared fictional multiverse much like the DC Universe and DC Multiverse in comic books, it was established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast and characters that span six live-action television series and two animated series. Central City is a fictional American city appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. It is the home of the Silver Age version of the Flash ( Barry Allen), and first appeared in ''Showcase'' #4 in September–October 1956. Location Central City's location has been vaguely defined over the years, similar to DC's other fictional cities such as Gotham City and Metropolis. In the 1970s, Central City was stated as being located in Ohio, where the real-world city of Athens, Ohio, would be (as shown in ''Flash'' #228 in 1974). Mark Pedowitz is the former chairman and CEO of The CW. He replaced Dawn Ostroff in 2011, who had been the Head of Entertainment since the network's inception in 2006. Pedowitz oversaw all aspects of The CW, including programming, sales, marketing, distribution, finance, research and publicity. Personal life Pedowitz is of Jewish background. Hawkman is the name of several superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics.
