Lee Alexander (footballer)
Lee Helen Gibson (née Alexander; born 23 September 1991) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Scottish Women's Premier League club Glasgow City and the Scotland women's national team. Early life Lee Gibson was born in Rutherglen on 27 September 1991. She grew up in the Stewartfield area of East Kilbride and was educated at Claremont High School. Playing career Club Gibson played for Glasgow City for five years, winning fourteen trophies including four consecutive domestic trebles, before signing a full-time professional contract with Swedish Damallsvenskan club Mallbackens IF in December 2015. She rejoined Glasgow City in December 2016. She helped City progress to the quarter-finals of the 2019–20 UEFA Women's Champions League by saving three of four kicks in a penalty shootout against Brondby. 2011 Scottish Women's Premier League
The 2011 Women's Premier League was the tenth season of the Scottish Women's Premier League. A total of eleven teams contested the division. It was played as a double round-robin in 2011. Celtic Reserves had won the 2010 Scottish Women's First Division, but were unable to be promoted as league rules stipulate each club may field only one team in the Premier League. Thus Hutchison Vale, as second-place finishers, were promoted and replaced the relegated Aberdeen. Dundee United Sports Club and Boroughmuir Thistle resigned from the league before the season commenced, resulting in Falkirk being offered promotion in February 2011. On the 17th matchday, Glasgow City secured their fifth straight Scottish title. Spartans W.F.C. finished as runners-up. Owing to a lack of clubs eligible to be promoted, F.C. The video assistant referee (VAR) is a match official in association football who reviews decisions made by the referee. The assistant video assistant referee (AVAR) is a current or former referee appointed to assist the VAR in the video operation room. The responsibilities of the AVAR include watching the live action on the field while the VAR is undertaking a "check" or a "review", to keep a record of reviewable incidents, and to communicate the outcome of a review to broadcasters. A penalty shot or penalty kick is a play used in several sports whereby a goal is attempted during untimed play. Depending on the sport, when a player commits certain types of penalties, the opposition is awarded a penalty shot or kick attempt. The 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup was the eighth edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup, the quadrennial international Women's association football championship contested by 24 women's national teams representing member associations of FIFA. Gemma Fay
Gemma Fay (born 9 December 1981) is a Scottish former female international football goalkeeper and actress. She played in Iceland for Stjarnan. Fay made 203 appearances for the Scotland national team, becoming their most capped player. Career Fay made her senior Scotland debut against Czech Republic in May 1998 and Fay won 23 Scotland caps before the age of 19. She praised the contribution of her national goalkeeping coach, Jim Gallacher. In 2009, Fay took over the captain's armband from long-term skipper Julie Fleeting and then reached 100 caps against Canada at the Cyprus Cup in 2009. In December 2011 Fay and three Celtic women's team mates were approached about playing for Team GB at the 2012 Olympics.
