Lechia Gdańsk Ladies ( pl, Lechia Gdańsk Kobiet), formerly known as ''Biało-Zielone Gdańsk'', is the ladies football team for Lechia Gdańsk. History The team were created in 2016 as Biało-Zielone Gdańsk and focused on football training for girls in youth teams. Biało-Zielone Gdańsk was closely linked with Lechia Gdańsk in its early years. After Lechia and AP Lotos Gdańsk, then known as Akademia Piłkarska Lechia Gdańsk, started having differences in how the academy should be run, the Biało-Zielone team allowed Lechia to have its own ladies team that was not associated with the team that Lechia and AP Lotos Gdańsk, with funding from Grupa Lotos Grupa Lotos S.A. was a vertically integrated oil company based in Gdańsk, Poland. The Akademia Lechia Gdańsk (''Lechia Gdańsk Academy'') is Lechia Gdańsk's academy section of the football club. Lechia Gdańsk II also serve as the team's official 2nd team. The Lechia Gdańsk II team is also sometimes referred to as Lechia II Gdańsk and as LG2. The Academy Since the early years of the clubs formation they have often had an academy to some degree with the focus of developing youth players for the first team. Lechia Gdańsk () is a Polish football club based in Gdańsk. The club was founded in 1945 by people expelled from Lwów, who were supporters of Poland's oldest football team Lechia Lwów, founded in 1903. The club's name comes from Lechia, a poetic name for Poland, and is a continuation of the name used by the club based in Lwów. In their early years, Lechia enjoyed some success, most notably finishing third in the Polish top division, before spending decades in the second and third tiers.
