Description

Adults false pit scales are yellow to reddish-brown and have a waxy, papery with about eight transverse ridges giving it a corrugated appearance. There is a longitudinal ridge in the center of the test and an anal opening with rolled up edges at the posterior end.

Walter Wilson Froggatt (13 June 1858 – 18 March 1937) was an Australian economic entomologist. Early life Froggatt was born in Melbourne, Victoria, the son of George Wilson Froggatt, an English architect, and his wife Caroline, daughter of Giacomo Chiosso, who came from a noble Italian family.
