Lead Me On (Amy Grant Album)
''Lead Me On'' is the eighth studio album by Christian music singer-songwriter Amy Grant, released in 1988 through A&M Recordings. ''Lead Me On'' was a departure from its predecessor, the high-energy pop album '' Unguarded''. Unlike ''Unguarded'' or 1991's ''Heart in Motion'', ''Lead Me On'' was not as mainstream compatible. Only three of its songs earned mainstream airplay, all of them insignificantly (the title song charted for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 96, and "Saved by Love" and "1974 (We Were Young)" made the Adult Contemporary chart in minor positions). Christian music, however, praised the album. It would later be named the No. 1 Christian album in ''CCM Magazine''s 2001 book ''The 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music''. Amy Lee Grant (born November 25, 1960) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. She began in contemporary Christian music (CCM) before crossing over to pop music in the 1980s and 1990s. She has been referred to as "The Queen of Christian Pop". she had sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, won six Grammy Awards, 22 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, and her album was the first Christian album to go platinum. ''Unguarded'' is the seventh studio album by Christian music singer Amy Grant, released in 1985 on A&M Records. It is Grant's first album released by A&M. When ''Unguarded'' was released in 1985, Grant was perhaps the most popular star in contemporary Christian music, recording songs with religious lyrics in the pop/rock style of the day. With this album, however, the religious content of the lyrics was scaled back as compared with her two previous regular studio albums, ''Age to Age'' and '' Straight Ahead''. The album track "I Love You" was Grant's first secular love song from her own pen. Despite this, the album's lead-off single, " Find a Way", was a number one hit on the Christian radio charts. Shane Keister is an American musician. He is known for his work as a studio musician, writer, arranger and producer. He plays synthesizer, piano, Hammond B3, Synclavier, Fairlight CMI, Fender Rhodes, and others. The Innocence Mission is an American indie folk band formed in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1986. The band is composed of Karen Peris (née McCullough), her husband (and fellow guitarist) Don Peris, and Mike Bitts (on bass guitar). Although all members of the band have contributed to their music, Karen Peris is their main writer. History The band members met in 1980 during a Catholic school production of ''Godspell''. Before being signed to a record label, the band was originally called ''Masquerade'' and played covers at local clubs, events and at Lancaster Catholic High School (the alma mater of the band members). Gary Winther Chapman (born August 19, 1957) is an American contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter and former television talk show host.
