"Le vent nous portera" (translated as "The wind will carry us") is a song by French band Noir Désir from their 2001 album '' des Visages des Figures''. It was released as the first single from the album and reached number one for four weeks in a row in the Italian Singles Charts, as well as number three in the French charts and number seven in the Belgian Record Charts. French-born Spanish artist Manu Chao collaborated on the song and played guitar. Music video The music video was directed by Alexandre Courtes and Jacques Veneruso and featured Rebecca Hampton as the main character. It won Music Video of the Year in 2001. Noir Désir (, "Black Desire") was a French rock band from Bordeaux. They were active during the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s, and have had two albums certified double platinum in France and three certified gold. They have been an influence on numerous French musicians including Cali, Louise Attaque and Miossec. While active, the band consisted of Bertrand Cantat (vocals, guitar), Serge Teyssot-Gay (guitar), Jean-Paul Roy (bass guitar) and Denis Barthe (drums). Les Charbonniers de l'Enfer are an ''a cappella'' folk music group formed in Quebec, Canada, in 1994. History The group is part of a revival in interest in Quebec's folk music. It was formed by five experienced singers who have been part of the regional folk music scene for more than 30 years: Michel Faubert, Normand Miron, Jean-Claude Mirandette, Michel Bordeleau, and André Marchand. Element of Crime is a German rock band that plays melancholic chanson, pop and rock music with guitar, bass guitar, drums and voice/trumpet. Band history The band was founded in 1985 by Sven Regener who subsequently became known as the author of the books ''Herr Lehmann'' (2001) (English title ''Berlin Blues''), '' Neue Vahr Süd'' (2004) and ''Der kleine Bruder'' (2008) and as the screenplay writer of the film adaptation of ''Herr Lehmann'' (2003). Regener sings and plays guitar, trumpet, accordion and piano. Scala & Kolacny Brothers is a Belgian women's choir conducted by Stijn Kolacny, and arranged and accompanied by Steven Kolacny on the piano.
