History The station is named after a former holder of the estate, ''Canus ''or ''Kanus'', then ''Chenay'', ''Chesnay ''and finally ''Chénay''. It has two exits: "Cité Jean Bouin" and "Poste du Chénay-Gagny". The district where the station is set now bears the same name. Service The station is located at 16,115 kilometric point of the Paris-Est–Strasbourg-Ville railway. The Réseau Express Régional ( en, Regional Express Network), commonly abbreviated RER (), is a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris and its Île-de-France, suburbs. It acts as a combined city-centre underground rail system and suburbs-to-city-centre commuter rail. In the city centre it acts much like the Paris Métro, though faster, having fewer stops. Chelles–Gournay is a railway station in Chelles, Seine-et-Marne, France. The station opened in 1849 and is on the Paris-Est–Strasbourg-Ville railway. Haussmann–Saint-Lazare is a station on the RER in Paris, France. Opened on 14 July 1999 as the terminus of the new Line E, it is situated beneath Boulevard Haussmann and directly connected to Paris–Saint-Lazare, Auber RER, and two metro stations. Engineering The architecture of Haussmann–Saint-Lazare closely resembles that of Magenta. Following the earlier model of Charles de Gaulle–Étoile, its main train hall houses two lines under a single cathedral-like vault with lateral platforms. RER E is one of the five lines in the Réseau Express Régional (English: Regional Express Network), a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris, France and its suburbs. The railway from Paris-Est to Strasbourg-Ville is a 493-kilometre-long railway line that connects Paris to Strasbourg via Châlons-en-Champagne and Nancy, France. Officially, the line does not start at the Gare de l'Est in Paris: the first 9 km until Noisy-le-Sec is shared with the railway from Paris to Mulhouse.
