Lazy Eye (Silversun Pickups Song)
"Lazy Eye" is the third single from Silversun Pickups' debut album '' Carnavas,'' written by lead singer and guitarist Brian Aubert. The band performed the song on the '' Late Show with David Letterman'', ''The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'', '' Later With Jools Holland'', and ''Last Call with Carson Daly''. The song is a playable track on '' Rock Band 2'' and '' Guitar Hero: World Tour''. An alternate version of the song, with a length of 7:27, was played on XMU before the shorter version was played on FM and other XM channels. This version was featured on their demo CD (which featured early versions of four tracks). Music video The music video for "Lazy Eye" was directed by Suzie Vlcek and produced by Eric Morgan. Silversun Pickups is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles that was formed in 2000. The band is composed of Brian Aubert, Nikki Monninger, Christopher Guanlao, and Joe Lester. The band released their debut EP, '' Pikul'', in July 2005, and their debut album, '' Carnavas'', on July 26, 2006. Their second album, '' Swoon'', was released on April 14, 2009. The Triple J Hottest 100 is an annual music listener poll hosted by the publicly-funded, national Australian youth radio station, Triple J. Members of the public are invited to vote for their favourite Australian and alternative music of the year in an online poll conducted two weeks prior to the new year. From 1989 to 2018, the 100 most popular songs were counted down from 12 pm on Australia Day. Since then, the countdown has been held on the fourth weekend of January, due to increasing controversy about Australia Day regarding its marking of the colonisation of Australia and dispossession of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land. ''Pop Up Video'' is a VH1 television show that shows music videos annotated via "pop-up" bubbles — officially called "info nuggets" — containing trivia and witticisms relating to the video in question. The show was created by Woody Thompson and Tad Low and premiered October 27, 1996. For a time, it was the highest- rated program on VH1, though ''Behind the Music'' overtook it by 1998. It was originally produced by Spin the Bottle Inc., and later by Eyeboogie Inc. during its original run. In October 2011, ''Pop Up Video'' was revived by VH1, featuring new videos with new trivia and commentary. The revived production was continued by Eyeboogie Inc. The International Music Feed was a music channel launched in 2005 broadcasting in the United States. IMF had a broad music policy focusing on music from around the world. The channel ceased operating in March 2008. It was the only channel in the US that focused on combining music from American artists with music from other countries across the globe. IMF maintained the increasingly rare format based very largely on playing music videos rather than other programming. The channel was wholly owned by Universal Music Group, but played artists from all labels. Closure It was announced January 7, 2008, that the station would be going off the air. January 9 was the end of the station's major market run, after Ovation TV purchased the channel and replaced it with Ovation TV on systems that did not already offer the channel.
