Lazar Ćirković
Lazar Ćirković ( sr-Cyrl, Лазар Ћирковић; born 22 August 1992) is a Serbian professional footballer who play as a centre-back for Indian Super League club Chennaiyin. Club career Ćirković started his professional career with Serbian SuperLiga club Rad in the 2010–11 season. He was also loaned to Serbian League Vojvodina club Palić in the 2011–12 season. On 20 August 2014, Ćirković signed a four-year contract with Partizan. He made his official debut for the club in a UEFA Europa League game against Tottenham Hotspur on 18 September 2014. International career Ćirković made his competitive debut for the Serbia national under-21 team in a 3–1 home win over Northern Ireland on 15 October 2013. He was a member of the team at the 2015 UEFA Under-21 Championship. The 2016–17 Serbian Cup season was the eleventh season of the Serbian national football tournament. The competition started in September 2016, and ended in May 2017. The winner of the competition qualified for the 2017–18 UEFA Europa League. Calendar Preliminary round A preliminary round was held in order to reduce the number of teams competing in the first round to 32. It consisted of 3 single-legged ties, with a penalty shoot-out as the decider if the score was tied after 90 minutes. This round featured the bottom 5 teams from the 2015–16 Serbian First League, as well as 5 regional cup winners. The draw was held on 3 September 2016, and it contained seeded and unseeded teams. The Serbian Cup ( Serbian: Куп Србије, Kup Srbije) is the national football cup of Serbia. The winner of the competition gets a spot in the UEFA Europa League qualifying round. From 2006 to 2010, the competition was known as the Lav Cup for sponsorship reasons. History Serbia's cup tournament is the legal successor to the Serbia and Montenegro Cup and in turn of the Yugoslav Cup. This cup tournament lasted for four seasons up until the dissolution of the state union of Serbia and Montenegro in 2006. The tournament was dominated by Serbian clubs with no Montenegrin sides reaching the final. Belgrade giants Red Star were easily the most successful club reaching the final all four years winning twice and losing in the final the other two seasons.
