Lavasanat District ( fa, بخش لواسانات) is a district (bakhsh) in Shemiranat County, Tehran Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 22,289, in 6,615 families. The administrative center of the district is Lavasan. The District has two rural districts (''dehestan''): Lavasan-e Bozorg Rural District and Lavasan-e Kuchak Rural District. During the Qajar era and early 20th century Lavasanat was the transit way between northern slopes of Elburz and Tehran with Great Lavasan (Lavasan Bozorg), Ammameh , Afjeh and Najarkala known as the most famous towns of Lavasanat. The natives of the Lavasanat district are of Caspian origin. The local dialect or "vernacular" spoken by its natives is a mix of Persian and Caspian. Lavasan
Lavasan ( fa, لواسان, also Romanized as ''Lavāsān'') is an affluent town in Shemiranat County, Tehran Province, Iran. At the 2011 census, its population was 28,558, in 7,645 families. The Jajrood River flows through Lavasan. Situated 11 kilometers northeast of Tehran, Lavasan is known for its excellent weather and the luxurious mansions. The city is home to many upper-class and wealthy families.Its beautiful mountains attract lots of campers and cyclists from around the country. Some Iranians call it the Beverly Hills or Switzerland of Tehran. Geography Lavasan is located 11 kilometres northeast of Tehran on the slopes of Alborz with an area of 70 square kilometres. While sometimes translated as "county," it is more accurately translated as "district," similar to a township in the United States or a district of England. Elburz
The Alborz ( fa, البرز) range, also spelled as Alburz, Elburz or Elborz, is a mountain range in northern Iran that stretches from the border of Azerbaijan along the western and entire southern coast of the Caspian Sea and finally runs northeast and merges into the smaller Aladagh Mountains and borders in the northeast on the parallel mountain ridge Kopet Dag in the northern parts of Khorasan.
