Laurie Toby Edison
Laurie Toby Edison (born March 5, 1942) is an internationally exhibited American artist, photographer, and visual activist. Much of Edison's photography is black-and-white fine art portraits. Their current project is ''Pandemic Shadows''. Their lifelong commitment to social justice informs all their work. Their work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, including New York City, Tokyo, Kyoto, Toronto, Boston, London, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Beijing, Seoul, Budapest, and San Francisco. They have published two books of photographs: a suite of nude environmental portraits of fat women ( ''Women En Large''), and ''Familiar Men: A Book of Nudes'', nude environmental portraits of a very diverse cross-section of men. Abstract expressionism is a post–World War II art movement in American painting, developed in New York City in the 1940s. It was the first specifically American movement to achieve international influence and put New York at the center of the Western art world, a role formerly filled by Art in Paris, Paris. Tee A. Corinne (November 3, 1943 – August 27, 2006) was an American photographer, author, and editor notable for the portrayal of sexuality in her artwork. According to ''Completely Queer: The Gay and Lesbian Encyclopedia'', "Corinne is one of the most visible and accessible lesbian artists in the world." Early life and education Linda Tee Athelston Cutchin was born in St. Petersburg, Florida to Thomas Barnes Cutchin and Marjorie Isabelle Meares. She grew up in Florida and North Carolina. In 1945, when Corinne was two years old, her parents got divorced. One year later, her mother remarried William T. McClellan. The two were alcoholics, which would later influence Corinne's mixed media show "Family: Growing Up in an Alcoholic Family." At age three-and-a-half, Corinne was diagnosed with tuberculosis. Michael Kimmel
Michael Scott Kimmel (born February 26, 1951) is an American retired sociologist specializing in gender studies. He was Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Stony Brook University in New York and is the founder and editor of the academic journal ''Men and Masculinities''. Kimmel is a spokesman of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism (NOMAS) and a longtime feminist. In 2013, he founded the Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities at Stony Brook University, where he is Executive Director. In 2018 he was publicly accused of sexual harassment.
