Laurens Vanthoor
Laurens Vanthoor (; born 8 May 1991) is a Belgium, Belgian professional racing driver currently racing for Porsche in motorsport, Porsche Motorsport as a Factory-backed, factory driver in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. He currently resides in Waiblingen outside of Stuttgart. Career Karting Born in Hasselt, Vanthoor began his kart racing career at an early age. In 2005 he became French and Belgian Champion in the KF3, ICA-J class and he also finished fourth in the European Championship. In 2007 Vanthoor become an official factory driver for the CRG (kart manufacturer), CRG racing team in the KF2 category. He ended up being out of action for five months out due to an accident, resulting in six fractures. 2016 Intercontinental GT Challenge
The 2016 Intercontinental GT Challenge was the first season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. The season featured three rounds — after the cancellation of the 6 Hours of the Americas - starting with Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour on 7 February and the season concluded with the Sepang 12 Hours on 10 December. Calendar On 29 January it was announced that the 6 Hours of the Americas would be cancelled with the official reason a lack of entrants. The test days of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup were only four days after the event, so the European teams would be cutting it close for both events. Instead, the organizers postponed the race for a year, but there were no plans to run the race. CRG (kart Manufacturer)
CRG is a kart chassis manufacturer of recent years. Famous alumni include Alex Zanardi, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. They were founded in the late 1970s by three Italian racers (Carlo Vanaria, Roberto Vanaria and Giancarlo Tinini), and were originally known as Kali Karts. In the beginning the company was a laughing stock, with Zanardi being told by his original team DAP that if he didn't stop complaining they would "send him to Kali". By the mid 1980s Kali had recovered from its inauspicious beginnings and was winning World Championships with drivers like Mike Wilson. The name change to CRG took place gradually in the early 1990s and ushered in an era of more World Championships from Danilo Rossi and Alessandro Manetti. The 2013 FIA GT Series was the first season following on from the demise of the SRO Group's FIA GT1 World Championship, an auto racing series for grand tourer cars. The 2014 Blancpain GT Series season was the first season of the Blancpain GT Series. The season started on 12 April at Monza and ended on 2 November in Baku. The season featured twelve rounds, five Blancpain Endurance Series rounds and seven Blancpain Sprint Series rounds. 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series
The 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series season was the fourth season of the Blancpain Endurance Series. The season started on 12 April at Monza and ended on 21 September at the Nürburgring. The season featured five rounds, with each race lasting for a duration of three hours besides the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and the 1000 km Nürburgring events. The main trophy of the series, the Pro Cup for drivers, was won by Laurens Vanthoor of the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT squad; Vanthoor won each of the last two races to be held during the season, winning at Spa with René Rast and Markus Winkelhock at the Nürburgring with César Ramos and Christopher Mies.
