Lassi
Lassi () is a regional name for buttermilk, the traditional dahi (yogurt)–based drink, consumed in the South Asian region. Lassi is a blend of yogurt, water, spices, and sometimes fruit. Salty lassi is similar to doogh, while modern sweet lassi is like milkshake. Lassi may be infused with cannabis in the form of bhang. Etymology Lassi is derived from the Sanskrit word ''Lasika'' () meaning serous or saliva like.Alternatively, it is also spelled as ''Lāsī'' ''(Laasi).'' Lassi originated in Punjab. Preparation Lassi is prepared by blending yogurt, water, and other spices. However, variations of lassi can be prepared in different ways. Cumin and cardamom are the most common spices added to lassi. Lassi is traditionally served in a clay cup known as '' kulhar''. Argostoli ( el, Αργοστόλι, Katharevousa: Ἀργοστόλιον) is a town and a municipality on the island of Kefalonia, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2019 local government reform it is one of the three municipalities on the island. It has been the capital and administrative centre of Kefalonia since 1757, following a population shift down from the old capital of Agios Georgios (also known as Kastro) to take advantage of the trading opportunities provided by the sheltered bay upon which Argostoli sits. Argostoli developed into one of the busiest ports in Greece, leading to prosperity and growth. Lassi People
The Lasi are a Sindhi tribal group of Balochistan, Pakistan. They form 3.5% of the total population of the province (as of 1961), and are the predominant group in the lowlands of Lasbela District. They occupy a high social position and have traditionally been engaged as agricultural landlords. Lassi Dialect
Lasi, or Lassi, also called Kohistani () is a dialect of the Sindhi language spoken on the western frontier of Sindh and Balochistan in Pakistan. It is spoken by the Sindhi Lasi people of Lasbela, Hub and Gwadar in Balochistan, and Lasi is also spoken in the Kohistan region of Karachi, Thatta and Jamshoro districts of Sindh. Loanwords Lasi is known to use loanwords from other languages, primarily from Persian as well as Balochi. Mehrullah Lassi (born November 24, 1979, Karachi, Sindh) is a former Pakistani amateur boxer best known to win a gold medal at the 2002 Asian Games. Career Mehrullah Lassi joined the Karachi Port Trust boxing club in 1995. He won a gold medal at Asian Games 2002 in the featherweight division.
