Las Amazonas (Venezuelan TV Series)
''Las Amazonas'' is a Venezuelan telenovela written by César Miguel Rondón and produced by Venevisión in 1985. This series lasted for 105 episodes and was distributed internationally by Venevisión International. Hilda Carrero and Eduardo Serrano starred as the main protagonists with Miriam Ochoa as the antagonist. Synopsis Emiro Lizárraga is an ambitious, proud owner of a horse ranch called ''Amazonas''. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Venevisión () is a Venezuelan free-to-air television channel and one of Venezuela's largest television networks, owned by the Cisneros Media division of Grupo Cisneros. History The company's roots date back to June 1, 1953, with the establishment of Televisora Mirandina Independiente S.A, (Televisa), which operated the channel 4 in Caracas and channel 5 in Maracaibo. When TELEVISA went bankrupt in 1960, Diego Cisneros purchased the remaining assets of the company. Flor (Spanish and Portuguese for ''flower'') in winemaking, is a film of yeast on the surface of wine, important in the manufacture of some styles of sherry. The flor is formed naturally under certain winemaking conditions, from indigenous yeasts found in the region of Andalucía in southern Spain.
