Larry K. Monteith
Larry King Monteith (born 17 August 1933) is a North Carolina electrical engineer and academic leader. He retired from North Carolina State University following a distinguished career of leadership positions, culminating with service as the university's eleventh chancellor from 1989 to 1998. In 1960, Monteith graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in electrical engineering. He later earned a M.S. and Ph.D. from Duke University, also in electrical engineering. After serving as a research scientist at the Solid State Laboratory of the Research Triangle Institute, Monteith joined the faculty of the NCSU Department of Electrical Engineering in 1968. He was later appointed Department Head (1974) and Dean of Engineering (1978). Marye Anne Fox
Marye Anne Payne Fox (9 December 1947 – 9 May 2021) was an American physical organic chemist and university administrator. She was the first female chief executive of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. In April 2004, Fox was named chancellor of the University of California San Diego. In 2010 Fox received the National Medal of Science. Biography Early years Fox was born in Canton, Ohio and received her B.S. from Notre Dame College and her PhD from Dartmouth College, both in chemistry. She held a postdoctoral appointment at the University of Maryland, College Park, University of Maryland from 1974 to 1976. Bruce Poulton
Bruce Poulton (March 7, 1927 – June 19, 2015) was the tenth chancellor of North Carolina State University from 1982 to 1989. Poulton was born in Yonkers, New York. He was educated at Rutgers University, where he received a Ph.D. in endocrinology in 1956. In 1971 he was appointed as vice president of the University of Maine, an office he held until becoming chancellor of the consolidated University of New Hampshire in 1975. In 1982 Poulton left New Hampshire to serve as chancellor of North Carolina State University; he was the school's 10th chief executive. While at N.C. State he obtained land and funding for the university's Centennial Campus. He also developed Centennial Campus's first master plan.
