Lapeer High School
Lapeer High School is a coeducational public high school located in Lapeer, Michigan. It was established in 2014 following a merger of two high schools. LHS has the largest enrollment of any school in Central Michigan or The Thumb. History Lapeer High School existed as one school until the 1975–1976 school year, when growing enrollments caused the need for an additional high school building. As a result, Lapeer High School was split into two: Lapeer West High School and Lapeer East High School In March 2013, the Lapeer School Board voted to consolidate the two high schools in Lapeer. The board decided to act sooner rather than later in addressing long-term structural issues plaguing the community - lower birth rates, declining population, and reduced funding due to current and projected enrollment declines. Oakland Activities Association is a Southeast Michigan high school athletics conference. It is made up of 23 schools located largely throughout Oakland County, with a single member located in Wayne County History The Oakland Activities Association was first formed with schools from an amalgamation of different leagues. North Dakota State Bison Wrestling
The North Dakota State Bison wrestling team represents North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. The Bison currently compete in the Big 12 Conference and play their home duals at the Scheels Center. NDSU is currently coached by Roger Kish. History North Dakota State wrestling began in 1957 when head coach Tom Neuberger led the team to victory in their first dual meet against Valley City State University. Neuberger passed the coaching reins to Bucky Maughan in 1964. Since that time, NDSU has won four NCAA Division II wrestling titles, 30 individual national champions, and 159 All-Americans. Their first Miss USA victory was in 1990, and notable because Carole Gist was the first African-American to win the title. Following in her footsteps, Kenya Moore, also African-American, won the title in 1993. In 2010, Michigan's Rima Fakih became the first Arab-American to win the title. Larry Carney (born December 31, 1965, in Lapeer, Michigan) is a US children’s book author and song lyricist. Most frequently writing in verse, he has created several book series which have been published by PC Treasures, Inc. Among these are the ''Night Before Christmas''… books, which feature the Christmas Eve adventures of traditional fairy tale characters, ''The Silly Series'', the ''Look!
