Laño
Laño ( eu, Lañu) is a hamlet and '' concejo'' (a small administrative subdivision) in Condado de Treviño within the Treviño enclave; which is administratively part of the Spanish province of Burgos, but which is completely surrounded by the territory of the Basque country province of Álava. It is best known for the fossils of extinct vertebrates dating from around 70 million years before present which have been found there. Palaeontology The Paleontology Unit of the University of the Basque Country and other scientists have studied the fossil record at Laño. The fossils are from the late Cretaceous (late Campanian to lower Maastrichtian). It has been inferred that there was then a braided riverbed at the site, that the sea was nearby, and that the climate was tropical or sub-tropical. Lano and Woodley (Colin Lane and Frank Woodley) is an Australian comedy duo. Previously, the two had been part of comedy trio The Found Objects along with Scott Casley. Casley left and so Lano and Woodley debuted as a double-act in March 1993 at Melbourne's Prince Patrick Hotel. Their act features sketch comedy and slapstick theatre. Their television show ''The Adventures of Lano and Woodley'' aired on the ABC in 1997 and 1999. In 1994, they won the Edinburgh Fringe Perrier Comedy Award. Angelo Joseph Lano (born January 12, 1939) is a former American field agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (1961–1990) in Washington DC, notable for his work heading the investigation of, and appearing as a witness for, the Watergate scandal surrounding President of the United States, President Richard M. Kevin C. Lano (born 1963) is a British computer scientist. Life and work Kevin Lano studied at the University of Reading, attaining a first class degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, and the University of Bristol where he completed his doctorate. He was an originator of formal object-oriented techniques ( Z++), and developed a combination of UML and formal methods in a number of papers and books. He was one of the founders of the Precise UML group, who influenced the definition of UML 2.0. Stefan Lano (born 1952) is a composer and music director, currently serving as the music and artistic director of the National Symphony Orchestra of Uruguay. He previously served an extensive career with the Vienna State Opera. Early life and education Lano was born in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1952 and is of Albanian descent. He attended Worcester Academy, graduating in 1970. He studied Biology and Composition at Oberlin College and Oberlin Conservatory of Music before attending Harvard University on a full fellowship, where he gained a PhD in Musical Composition.
