The Battle of Lang Vei (Vietnamese: ''Trận Làng Vây'') began on the evening of 6 February 1968 and concluded during the early hours of 7 February, in Quảng Trị Province, South Vietnam. Towards the end of 1967, the 198th Tank Battalion of the People's Army of Vietnam's (PAVN) 202nd Armored Regiment received instructions from the North Vietnamese Ministry of Defense to reinforce the 304th Division as part of the Route 9–Khe Sanh Campaign. After an arduous journey down the Ho Chi Minh trail in January 1968, the 198th Tank Battalion linked up with the 304th Division for an offensive along Highway 9, which stretched from the Laotian border through to Quảng Trị Province. Lang Syne Plantation
Lang Syne Plantation is a historic plantation near St. Matthews, Calhoun County, South Carolina. The plantation was established in the 18th century by Ann Heatly Reid Lovell and her nephew Langdon Cheves, a prominent South Carolina politician and president of the Second Bank of the United States. The present Classical Revival plantation house was built in 1901. Julia Peterkin lived there with her planter husband and based many of her novels on the Gullah people of the Low Country. She won a 1929 Pulitzer Prize for her novel ''Scarlet Sister Mary.'' The plantation was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. The Lang School is a private, nonprofit, K-12 school for gifted and twice exceptional (2e) students located in New York City's Financial District. Lang Propellers was a British company that manufactured aircraft propellers. The company operated independently from 1913 to 1936. History In 1909 Arthur Alexander Dashwood Lang became interested in aircraft propeller design and made some propellers in his own name. Lang developed and patented processes covering the tips of propeller blades with copper or fabric. These were used for example on Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2C aircraft. In 1910 he went to work for the British & Colonial Aeroplane Company (later the Bristol Aircraft Co.) as manager of the propeller shop. Lang Law is the informal name given to French law number 81-766, from 10 August 1981, which establishes a fixed price for books sold in France and limits price discounts on them. The law is named after Jack Lang, the French Minister of Culture responsible for creating the law. Background Until 1979 fixed prices of the books on the French market were maintained as a result of voluntary agreement between publishers and booksellers. In 1979 decrees forbidding such practices were issued by René Monory, french Minister of the Economy at the time. Repealing of Monory's reforms of the book market, in order to protect small, traditional booksellers from competition of big stores and chain retailers (such as Fnac), was part of François Mitterrand's electoral program during presidential campaign in 1981.
