Ingvald Godal
Ingvald Godal (26 October 1934 – 28 January 2019) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party and later the Conservative Party. For the former party he was a State Secretary as well as mayor of Vinje; for the latter party he served four terms in the Norwegian Parliament. He was also involved in various organizations, most latterly the Norwegian Support Committee for Chechnya. Professional career Born in Aker as the son of a vicar and a teacher, he took his secondary education at Hamar Cathedral School in 1953. The Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities ( no, KS) is an employers' organisation in Norway. It was founded in 1972 as a merger between the Union of Norwegian Cities (''Norges Byforbund'', founded in 1903) and the Norwegian Association of Rural Municipalities (''Norges Herredsforbund'', founded in 1923). Vinje is a municipality in Telemark in the county of Vestfold og Telemark in Norway. It is part of the traditional regions of Upper Telemark and Vest-Telemark. The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Åmot. General information Name The municipality of Vinje (originally a parish) is named after the old ''Vinje'' farm (Old Norse: ''Vinjar''), since the first church was built there.
