Lanao Del Sur's 2nd Congressional District
Lanao del Sur's 2nd congressional district is a congressional district in the province of Lanao del Sur that has been represented in the House of Representatives of the Philippines since 1987. It covers 22 municipalities bordering the southern shores of Lake Lanao, including those located on the Moro Gulf coast and the municipalities bordering Maguindanao. The district is currently represented in the 18th Congress by Yasser Balindong of the Lakas–CMD. Congressional districts of the Philippines ( fil, distritong pangkapulungan) refers to the electoral districts or constituencies in which the country is divided for the purpose of electing 253 of the 316 members of the House of Representatives (with the other 63 being elected through a system of party-list proportional representation). The country is currently divided into 253 congressional districts, also known as legislative districts or representative districts, with each one representing at least 250,000 people or one entire province. Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats, abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and also known simply as Lakas, is a political party in the Philippines. Marogong, officially the Municipality of Marogong, is a 4th class municipality in the province of Lanao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 30,118 people. Malabang, officially the Municipality of Malabang (Maranao: ''Inged a Malabang''; tl, Bayan ng Malabang), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Lanao del Sur, Philippines.
