Lan Mu
Lan Mu (1872–1943, ) was from Dabu County, Dabu, Chaozhou of Guangdong Province. He was a famous craftsman of traditional architecture in Taiwan and Penghu during 1916 to 1943. According to the area of his hometown, he might be a Hakka. Biography Lan Mu's parents died in his early years and he went to be a craftsman's apprentice to raise himself and his younger brother Lan He (). Based on his hard work and talent, he became a good wood carving master in Chaozhou. In 1916, (Taishō period, Taishō 5th year), Lan Mu left his hometown and moved to Penghu with his brother. In 1923, (Taishō 11th year), Lan Mu was assigned to be the chief architect of the Mazu Temple (Magong), Penghu Mazu Temple restoration. At the time, he was 40 years old (as the East Asian age reckoning). Three years later, Lan Mu and other craftsmen successfully finished the repair. Magong Beiji Temple
Magong Beiji Temple () is a temple in Magong City, Penghu, Taiwan. The temple is dedicated to Xuantian Shangdi. Because the location of temple is at the eastern side of ancient Magong city, so Beiji Temple is more widely known as "Dongjia Temple". (東甲宮; pinyin: ''dōng jiǎ gōng;'' its first character "東 ''dong''" means "east"; the next character "甲 ''jia''" is "a district unit during Qing Dynasty"; the last character "宮 ''gong''" is temple.) The Qing dynasty ( ), officially the Great Qing,, was a Manchu-led imperial dynasty of China and the last orthodox dynasty in Chinese history. It emerged from the Later Jin dynasty founded by the Jianzhou Jurchens, a Tungusic-speaking ethnic group who unified other Jurchen tribes to form a new "Manchu" ethnic identity. Fujian
Fujian (; alternately romanized as Fukien or Hokkien) is a province on the southeastern coast of China. East Asian Age Reckoning
Countries in the East Asian cultural sphere (China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and their diasporas) have traditionally used specific methods of reckoning a person's numerical age based not on their birthday but the calendar year, and what age one is considered at birth.
