Lamont Thompson
Lamont Darnell Thompson (born July 30, 1978) is a former American football safety in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He also played for the Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars. He played college football at Washington State. College Career He played high school football at El Cerrito High School. Thompson then moved on to the Washington State Cougars, where he played free safety. As a true freshman, Thompson led the team with 6 interceptions in 1997, despite not being a full-time starter. Safety (American Football Position)
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. Marcus Lavon Trufant (born December 25, 1980) is a former American football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. He played college football for Washington State University, and was chosen by the Seattle Seahawks 11th overall in the 2003 NFL Draft. From 2010 to 2012, Trufant helped mentor the young Seahawks secondary that became known as the Legion of Boom. Sun Bowl
The Sun Bowl is a college football bowl game that has been played since 1935 in the southwestern United States at El Paso, Texas. Along with the Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl, it is the second-oldest bowl game in the country, behind the Rose Bowl. A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football.
