Lambretta Model C
The Lambretta Model C was the third production Scooter made by Innocenti's Lambretta. The Model C was the first Lambretta scooter to be imported the United Kingdom. The C is seen as a more reliable bike than previous models although it remained very similar to its predecessors. Design Starting with the Model C Lambretta frames would be made of tube. The engine was once again a 123cc air-cooled engine but the block was this time was integrated to the frame with the spring suspension. The same carburetor, a Dell'Orto Dell'Orto is an Italian company, headquartered in Cabiate, specialized in the construction of carburetors and electronic injection systems. Lambretta Model B
The Lambretta Model B was the second production model of Lambretta scooters, produced from November 1948 to January 1950. It was similar to its predecessor, the Lambretta Model A but was refined to improve the ride. It was made because of the success of the Model A. Overview After the success of the Model A Ferdinando Innocenti needed a refined bike so the Model B was very similar to its predecessor. The main aim was to improve ride quality and comfort while keeping the scooter a low cost form of transport. It was just as simple as the Model A, but the improvements mean it cost more. Lambretta Model D
The Lambretta Model D was a scooter produced by Lambretta as a direct replacement for the Model C. The Model D was the first Innocenti scooter to be manufactured outside of Italy as the licence was sold in Europe, Asia and South America. Model D Design Frame and Body The Model D had a revised steel tubular frame that had been lengthened to make way for new suspension and other small updates. The basic layout of the Model C was kept with a fuel tank under the front seat and a toolbox at the rear of the bike. The front suspension tubes were fully enclosed to hide the spring suspension and hermetically sealed in oil to protect from corrosion. Air-cooled engines rely on the circulation of air directly over heat dissipation fins or hot areas of the engine to cool them in order to keep the engine within operating temperatures. Dell'Orto is an Italian company, headquartered in Cabiate, specialized in the construction of carburetors and electronic injection systems.
