Lambina
Lambina Station is a pastoral lease that once operated as a sheep station but now operates as a cattle station in outback South Australia. It is located approximately north east of Marla and north west of Oodnadatta. The property shares a boundary with Granite Downs to the west and Todmorden Station to the east. The ephemeral Alberga River runs through the property. Currently the property occupies an area of . It consists of a mixture of gibber plains and Pedirka desert country that has an average annual rainfall of . Lambina had been established prior to 1905. In 1906 the owner, Joseph H. Harding, sold off his stock from the property that was in the grip of drought. Harding started restocking the following year and took delivery of 1,580 sheep and 10 horses early in 1908. Todmorden Station (pastoral Lease)
Todmorden Station, most commonly known as Todmorden, is a pastoral lease that operates as a cattle station in South Australia. Location The property is situated approximately north west of Oodnadatta and east of Marla. The region is arid with several ephemeral creeks passing through the property including Alberga, Olarinna and Coongra Creeks, many of which have semi-permanent waterholes suitable for watering stock. The Oodnadatta Track runs through the property between Oodnadatta and Marla. The property is bounded to the north by Lambina and Hamilton Stations, to the east by Macumba, to the west by Wellbourn Hill and to the south by Arckaringa and Wintinna Stations. Description Todmorden currently occupies an area of sub-divided into 32 paddocks, and supports between 5000 and 7000 head of cattle. A pastoral lease, sometimes called a pastoral run, is an arrangement used in both Australia and New Zealand where government-owned Crown land is leased out to graziers for the purpose of livestock grazing on rangelands. Australia Pastoral leases exist in both Australian commonwealth law and state jurisdictions. They do not give all the rights that attach to freehold land: there are usually conditions which include a time period and the type of activity permitted. A homestead is an isolated dwelling, especially a farmhouse, and adjacent outbuildings, typically on a large agricultural holding such as a ranch or station.
