Lake Lama () is a large freshwater lake (of tectonic origin) in Krasnoyarsk Krai, north-central part of Russia. Geography Lake Lama is located in the Putorana Plateau area at , 140 km east off the city of Norilsk, and has an area of 318 km² (other sources state 460 km²). The Latin American Motorcycle Association (otherwise known as L.A.M.A.) was founded on June 12, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. L.A.M.A. is an international organization that is recognized as one of the most active long-distance riding clubs in the world. History Founded on June 12, 1977, L.A.M.A. operated as a single chapter in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood for nearly 20-years. In 1995, the L.A.M.A. Miami chapter was founded, and one year later, L.A.M.A. grew to become a national association with the election of the organization's first president. The Aérospatiale SA 315B Lama is a French single-engined helicopter developed to meet hot and high operational requirements of the Indian Armed Forces. It combines the lighter Aérospatiale Alouette II airframe with Alouette III components and powerplant. The Lama possesses exceptional high altitude performance. Lama (geology)
Lama is a local toponym that denotes a wide furrow in the ground typical of the Murge landscape. Lamas convey rainwater from the Murge plateau to the endpoint of the drainage basin they belong to. Lamas are generally confused with rivers or streams. There is a big difference between lamas and streams, since lamas collect only rainwater of their drainage basin, while they are completely dry when there is no rain. Moreover, in lamas water mostly flows underground and just a small amount of the rainwater flows on its surface. As for lamas, surface runoff is greatest in the extreme and uncommon situations of heavy rain. Lamas usually contain fertile soil, that deposited over the millennia due to the erosion and they are usually cultivated. Since they contain fertile soil, they are distinguishable from the nearby typical area of the Murge plateau, that is almost everywhere stony, arid and hard to grow.
