Lake Malawi (band)
Lake Malawi is a Czech indie pop band from Třinec formed in 2013. The band currently consists of lead vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist Albert Černý, and bassist and keyboardist Jeroným Šubrt. The band was formed by Černý following the breakup of his former band Charlie Straight. Their debut extended play ''We Are Making Love Again'' was released in 2015, followed by their debut studio album ''Surrounded by Light'' in 2017. They Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, represented the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "Friend of a Friend (Lake Malawi song), Friend of a Friend", finishing in 11th place. Třinec (; pl, Trzyniec ; german: Trzynietz) is a city in Frýdek-Místek District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 34,000 inhabitants and is the least populated statutory city in the country. Ben da Silva Cristóvão (born 8 June 1987), known professionally as Ben Cristovao or Benny Cristo, is a Czech singer, lyric writer, sportsman, and actor. He was nominated to represent the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam after winning the national round with the song Kemama. Mikoláš Josef (; born 4 October 1995), known professionally as Mikolas Josef, is a Czech singer-songwriter and former model. He represented the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal with the song "Lie to Me", and finished in sixth place, the best result for the Czech Republic in Eurovision history. The UK Singles Downloads Chart is compiled by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on behalf of the music industry. Since July 2015, the chart week runs from Friday to Thursday, with the chart date given as the following Thursday.
