Lake D'Arbonne
Lake D’Arbonne is a reservoir located near and around the town of Farmerville in Union Parish in north Louisiana. Isolated in a rural area, it is a popular man-made fishing area that has a combined estimated area of . The lake was first conceived in 1957. The long concrete dam was built in 1961 by the Louisiana Department of Public Works and the resulting lake took shape by 1963 behind the tall dam. Lake D’Arbonne State Park, a state maintained camping and recreation area, lies on the lake. Louisiana State Highway 33
Louisiana Highway 33 (LA 33) is a state highway located in northern Louisiana. It runs in a southwest to northeast direction from U.S. Highway 80 (US 80) in Ruston to the Arkansas state line north of Marion. The route begins east of Ruston's downtown area and provides access to one of the city's three interchanges with Interstate 20 (I-20). Midway along its route, LA 33 joins LA 15 across Lake D'Arbonne, a popular recreational spot, and through the adjacent town of Farmerville. North of Marion, the roadway continues as Arkansas Highway 129 toward Huttig, Arkansas. Morehouse Parish is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. As of the 2010 census, the population was 27,979. The parish seat is Bastrop. The parish was formed in 1844. Morehouse Parish comprises the Bastrop, LA Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Monroe– Ruston–Bastrop, LA Combined Statistical Area.
