Lake Agnes is an alpine lake in the Colorado State Forest State Park occurring within the Never Summer Mountain Range. The lake lies within glacial tarn surrounded by a cirque consisting of Nokhu Crags, Static Peak, Mount Richthofen, Mount Mahler, and Braddock Peak. State Forest State Park
State Forest State Park is a Colorado State Park located in Jackson and Larimer counties east of Walden, Colorado, United States. The park was established in 1970 in the Medicine Bow Range of the Rocky Mountains. Facilities include a visitors' center, 187 campsites (including RV and tent sites), over 60 dispersed camping sites, 15 cabins and yurts, picnic sites, boat ramps and of hiking trails. About of the park are forested in lodgepole pine, Douglas fir, Colorado blue spruce, aspen and other species. Jackson County, Colorado
Jackson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 census, the population was 1,379, and it was the fourth least populated in the state. The county is named after the United States President Andrew Jackson. The county seat and only municipality in the county is Walden. Michigan River

Alpine Lake
Alpine lakes are classified as lakes at high altitudes in mountainous zones, usually near or above the tree line, with extended periods of ice cover. These lakes are commonly formed from glacial activity (either current or in the past) but can also be formed from geological processes such as volcanic activity or landslides. Many alpine lakes that are fed from glacial melt have the characteristic bright turquoise or green color as a result of glacial flour, suspended minerals derived from a glacier scouring the bedrock. When active glaciers are not supplying water to the lake, such as a majority of alpine lakes of the Rocky Mountains in the U.S., the lakes may still be bright blue due to the lack of algae growth resulting from cold temperatures, lack of nutrient run-off from surrounding land, and lack of sediment input. Never Summer Mountains
The Never Summer Mountains are a mountain range in the Rocky Mountains in north central Colorado in the United States consisting of seventeen named peaks. The range is located along the northwest border of Rocky Mountain National Park, forming the continental divide between the headwaters of the Colorado River in Rocky Mountain National Park to the local-east and the upper basin of the North Platte River ( North Park) to the local-west; the continental divide makes a loop in these mountains. The range is small and tall, covering only with a north-south length of while rising to over at over ten distinct peaks. The range straddles the Jackson-Grand county line for most of its length, and stretches into Jackson and Larimer county at its northern end. Tarn (lake)
A tarn (or corrie loch) is a Proglacial lake, proglacial mountain lake, pond or pool, formed in a cirque excavated by a glacier. A moraine may form a natural dam below a tarn. Etymology The word is toponymy, derived from the Old Norse word ''tjörn'' ("a small mountain lake without tributaries") meaning pond. Nokhu Crags
Nokhu Crags is a rock formation and mountain summit in the Never Summer Mountains range of the Rocky Mountains of North America. The name is derived from the Arapaho language, ''Neaha-no-xhu'', meaning "Eagles Nest." The peak is located in State Forest State Park, south ( bearing 181°) of Cameron Pass in Jackson County, Colorado, United States. The summit lies just northwest of the Continental Divide and Rocky Mountain National Park, near the headwaters of the Michigan River. Static Peak (Colorado)
Static Peak is a mountain peak in the U.S. state of Colorado, within State Forest State Park and part of the Never Summer Mountain Range. It is located in a chain of peaks and lies between Nokhu Crags to the north and Mount Richthofen to the south. To the east lie the shallow basins of Snow Lake and to the west the mountain descends directly into the deep waters of Lake Agnes. Mount Richthofen
Mount Richthofen is the highest summit of the Never Summer Mountains range of the Rocky Mountains of North America. The prominent peak is located northwest by west ( bearing 308°) of Milner Pass, Colorado, United States, on the Continental Divide separating the Rocky Mountain National Park Wilderness in Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand County from Routt National Forest and Jackson County. The mountain was named in honor of pioneering German geologist Baron Ferdinand von Richthofen, apparently by Clarence King's 1870 survey team. Mountain Needles and Grenadiers explorer William S. Cooper climbed Mount Richthofen by himself in 1908 in what is presumed to be the first ascent in historic times by Americans of European descent. Braddock Peak
Braddock Peak is a mountain summit in the Never Summer Mountains range of the Rocky Mountains of North America. The peak is located in State Forest State Park, south-southwest ( bearing 201°) of Cameron Pass in Jackson County, Colorado, United States. Mountain Braddock Peak lies east-northeast of Seven Utes Mountain, west of Snow Lake, and north of the boundary of Routt National Forest and the Never Summer Wilderness. It is named for Dr. William A. Braddock (1929–2003), Professor of Geological Sciences at the University of Colorado at Boulder from 1958 to 1994.
