Lajos Szigeti
Lajos Szigeti (27 November 1906 – 27 April 1974) was a Hungarian boxer who competed in the 1932 Summer Olympics and in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He was born in Budapest. In 1932 he was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the middleweight class after losing his fight to the eventual bronze medalist Ernest Peirce of South Africa. The 1932 Summer Olympics (officially the Games of the X Olympiad and also known as Los Angeles 1932) were an international multi-sport event held from July 30 to August 14, 1932 in Los Angeles, California, United States. The Games were held during the worldwide Great Depression, with some nations not traveling to Los Angeles; 37 nations competed, compared to the 46 in the 1928 Games in Amsterdam, and then-U.S. President Herbert Hoover did not attend the Games. The 1936 Summer Olympics (German: ''Olympische Sommerspiele 1936''), officially known as the Games of the XI Olympiad (German: ''Spiele der XI. Ernest "Eddie" Peirce (25 September 1909 – 23 January 1998) was a South African boxer who competed in the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. He was born in Somerset West and died in Apache Junction, Arizona Apache Junction is a city in Pinal and Maricopa counties in the state of Arizona.
