Laird Macintosh
Laird Macintosh (born June 27, 1962) is an American actor and comedian. He is best known as the host of the NBC reality television program ''Treasure Hunters''. Among his credits is the television series ''Hannah Montana'', on which he portrayed a Secret Service agent. He also appeared in the episode "Charlie and Jordan Go to Prison" on the sitcom ''Anger Management''. Macintosh is a member of The Groundlings, a Los Angeles-based sketch and improv comedy troupe. Laird's real surname is Rattray, as he uses his mother's maiden name. His younger sister, Heather Rattray, is also an actress. Treasure Hunters (TV Series)
''Treasure Hunters'' is a reality television series on NBC (US) and Global (Canada) in which ten teams of three solve puzzles and complete challenges in hopes of solving the ultimate puzzle and winning the grand prize. Teams travel across the United States and Europe in search of seven "artifacts" which when assembled will "lead to the key. Find the key, and find the treasure." The challenges and puzzles are spliced with American history, and the ultimate goal is to find a hidden treasure, leading the show to be compared on various occasions to the film ''National Treasure''. The value of the treasure in the series was revealed on the season finale to be $3,000,000. The Groundlings
The Groundlings is an American improvisational and sketch comedy troupe and school based in Los Angeles. The troupe was formed by Gary Austin in 1974 and uses an improv format influenced by Viola Spolin, whose improvisational theater techniques were taught by Del Close and other members of the Second City, located in Chicago and later St. Louis. They used these techniques to produce sketches and improvised scenes. Its name is taken from Shakespeare's ''Hamlet'', Act III, Scene II: "...to split the ears of the groundlings, who for the most part are capable of nothing but inexplicable dumbshows and noise." He made his Broadway debut in 2011 in the role of George Banks in ''Mary Poppins'' at the New Amsterdam Theater in New York City.
