The Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) ( ur, ) Is a public university in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Founded in 1922 with a capacity of 60 students, it now has a full-time enrollment of about 15,000 students and admits students at Intermediate, Graduate, Masters and Ph.D. levels. At the time of autonomy, in 1990, there were master's classes in only six areas. But now with the University status, LCWU offers degrees at graduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. BS 4-year degree program is being offered in 39 disciplines and 5 years Pharm-D and Architecture degree is being offered. The college is offering M.A./M.Sc. in 6 subjects and M.S./M.Phil. degree in 28 subjects. Samina Khalid Ghurki
Samina Khalid Ghurki (Urdu: ثمینہ خالد گرکی; born 13 August 1956) is a Pakistani politician of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Ghurki was born on 13 August 1956 in Lahore in Ghurki Arain Family, Punjab and completed her degree at Lahore College for Women in 1976. She was elected to the National Assembly for her first term in 2002 from the constituency of NA-130, the largest in Lahore. She was re-elected in 2008 from the same constituency. Arfa Sayeda Zehra is a Pakistani educationist and Urdu language expert. She is current serving as the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister for Education and National Harmony Affairs. Manmohini Sahgal (née Zutshi, 1909–1994) was an Indian freedom fighter and politician. She was a member of the Nehru–Gandhi family. Kishwar Naheed ( ur, ) (born 1940) is a feminist Urdu poet and a writer from Pakistan. She has written several poetry books. She has also received awards including Sitara-e-Imtiaz for her literary contribution towards Urdu literature. Early life Kishwar Naheed was born in 1940 to a Syed family in Bulandshahr, India. She migrated to Lahore, Pakistan after partition in 1949 with her family. Kishwar was a witness to the violence (including rape and abduction of women) associated with the partition of India. Riffat Hassan (born 1943) is a Pakistani-American theologian and a leading Islamic feminist scholar of the Qur'an.
