Ladislav Kohn
Ladislav Kohn (born March 4, 1975) is a Czech former professional ice hockey Forward who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Atlanta Thrashers and the Detroit Red Wings. Playing career He was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round, 175th overall, of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He played in Finland's SM-liiga with the Espoo Blues from 2003 to 2007 before moving to Russia with HC CSKA Moscow. He now plays in the Kontinental Hockey League for HC Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. After playing briefly with HC Kladno in the Czechoslovak Extraliga in the 1992–93 season, Kohn joined the Western Hockey League in 1993–94. After two seasons of junior hockey, Kohn made his professional debut with Calgary's AHL affiliate, the Saint John Flames. David Cooper (ice Hockey)
David Cooper (born November 2, 1973) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was drafted in the first round, 11th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. He received WHL East First All-Star Team award in 1992. Playing career As a youth, Cooper played in the 1987 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Winnipeg South Monarchs minor ice hockey team. After playing four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Medicine Hat Tigers, Cooper made his professional debut with Buffalo's American Hockey League affiliate, the Rochester Americans, in the 1993 Calder Cup Playoffs. Cooper then played three full seasons with the Sabres' organization, with the Americans as well as the team's ECHL affiliate, the South Carolina Stingrays. 1998–99 NHL Season
The 1998–99 NHL season was the 82nd regular season of the National Hockey League. The league expanded to 27 teams with the addition of the Nashville Predators. 1997–98 NHL Season
The 1997–98 NHL season was the 81st regular season of the National Hockey League. The Stanley Cup champions were the Detroit Red Wings, who swept the Washington Capitals in four games. League business On June 25, 1997, the National Hockey League approved of four expansion franchises for Nashville, Atlanta, Columbus, and Saint Paul expanding the league to 30 teams by 2000. Saint John Flames
The Saint John Flames were a Canadian ice hockey team in the American Hockey League from 1993 to 2003 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The Calgary Flames bought and relocated the Utica Devils, to be their AHL affiliate. History The Saint John Flames won the 2001 Calder Cup Championship on home ice at Harbour Station on May 28, 2001 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the farm team of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Flames won the series four games to two with a final score of 1–0. The Flames also played in the Calder Cup Finals in 1998, losing to the Philadelphia Phantoms. With their 2001 victory, the Saint John Flames became the second AHL team based in New Brunswick to win the Calder Cup, the first being the New Brunswick Hawks of Moncton in 1982 against the Binghamton Whalers. American Hockey League
The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Since the 2010–11 season, every team in the league has an affiliation agreement with one NHL team. When NHL teams do not have an AHL affiliate, players are assigned to AHL teams affiliated with other NHL teams. The Western Hockey League (WHL) is a major junior ice hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Kontinental Hockey League
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL; russian: Континентальная хоккейная лига (КХЛ), Kontinental'naya khokkeynaya liga) is an international professional ice hockey league founded in 2008. It comprises member clubs based in Russia (19), Belarus (1), Kazakhstan (1) and China (1) for a total of 22 clubs. It was considered in 2015 to be the premier professional ice hockey league in Europe and Asia, and the second-strongest in the world behind North America's National Hockey League.
