Uherský Brod
Uherský Brod (; german: Ungarisch Brod) is a town in Uherské Hradiště District in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 16,000 inhabitants. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Administrative parts Villages of Havřice, Maršov, Těšov and Újezdec are administrative parts of Uherský Brod. Etymology The name means literally "Hungarian Ford". It refers to its historical location near a ford across the local river Olšava and near the border with Kingdom of Hungary.
