Lachlan Gollant
Lachlan Gollant (born 12 September 2001) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Gollant, a Melbourne native, attended both St. Bernard's College and Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School. He is a great-nephew of former North Melbourne captain Vic Lawrence and his father also played for North Melbourne at under-19s level. A Calder Cannons recruit, Gollant was selected by Adelaide with the 48th pick of the 2019 national draft. He made his league debut in the final home and away round of the 2021 AFL season. 2019 AFL Draft
The 2019 AFL draft consists of the various periods where the 18 clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL) can trade and recruit players following the completion of the 2019 AFL season. Key dates Mid-season rookie draft The first mid-season draft since 1993 was held after Round 10 of the 2019 AFL season on 27 May. Showdown (AFL)
The Showdown is an Australian rules football game played by the two Australian Football League (AFL) teams from South Australia, the Adelaide and Port Adelaide football clubs. The first AFL premiership fixture between the two clubs took place on 20 April 1997. The South Australian Brewing Company, makers of West End beers, were the first sponsors of the game and decided that the "Showdown" would be an appropriate name as a promotional opportunity for games between these two clubs, since it was the first time two South Australian teams had played against each other in the AFL. It was established in 1887 by Thomas Haslam as a weekly broadsheet and was purchased by Colin McPherson the following year. The ''News'' is owned by McPherson Media Group, a family business. 2021 AFL Season
The 2021 AFL season was the 125th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior men's Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured eighteen clubs, ran from 18 March until 25 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs. The season was played during the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic, and saw disruptions but to a much lesser extent than the 2020 season. Virus outbreaks resulted in restrictions on crowds and the relocation of forty games outside their originally fixtured states, but the season was played without suspension and with only minor disruptions to the scheduled dates of matches. The Calder Cannons is an Australian rules football club from Melbourne, Australia. The club competes in the NAB League, the Victorian Statewide Under-18s competition, and fields squads in the Under-15s, Under-16s and Under-18s. The club was formed in 1995 after the need for two more metropolitan clubs.
