Les Rousses () is a commune in the Canton of Hauts de Bienne of Jura department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in eastern France, on the Swiss border. The Lac des Rousses is located northeast of the village of Les Rousses beside the road to the village of Bois d'Amont. The Lac de Lamoura is located southwest of the village of Les Rousses beside the road to the village of Lamoura. Other places include the village of Prémanon, and La Cure, the transit point across the Swiss border towards Saint-Cergue. The Vallée de Joux is a valley of the Jura Mountains mainly in the Swiss Canton of Vaud. The valley also continues into France ( Jura département) at its higher, southwestern, end. Located north of Geneva and northwest of Lausanne, its mean elevation is over . There are three Swiss lakes in the ''Vallée de Joux'': the lac de Joux (around long), the lac Brenet and Lake Ter. Orbe (river)
The Orbe (french: L'Orbe) is a river of the Rhine basin. It starts in France and flows to Switzerland where it forms the river Thielle at its confluence with the river Talent. Not to be mistaken with the Orbe, which is a tributary of the Arrats. Geography The Orbe has its source near Rousses, forms the lac des Rousses before flowing down to lac de Joux in canton of Vaud, Switzerland. It disappears naturally underground for a stretch of 4 km, to reappear in Vallorbe - where a special ecotourism site was created, the Vallorbe Caves (note, to re-edit - http://www.grottesdevallorbe.ch/).
