Lac-Beauchamp District
Lac-Beauchamp District (District 16) is a municipal electoral district in Gatineau, Quebec represented on Gatineau City Council. It is currently represented by Denis Girouard. The district is named after Lac Beauchamp, an artificial lake in this district. The district contains the southern half of Old Gatineau, the historic downtown of the Gatineau Sector of the city. It also contains a small section of Templeton. Gatineau
Gatineau ( ; ) is a city in western Quebec, Canada. It is located on the northern bank of the Ottawa River, immediately across from Ottawa, Ontario. Gatineau is the largest city in the Outaouais administrative region and is part of Canada's National Capital Region. As of 2021, Gatineau is the fourth-largest city in Quebec with a population of 291,041, and a census metropolitan area population of 1,488,307. The Gatineau City Council (french: Conseil municipal de Gatineau) is the governing body for the mayor–council government in the city of Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. Stéphane Lauzon
Stéphane Lauzon (born April 27, 1966) is a Canadian Liberal politician. Lauzon was elected to represent the riding of Argenteuil—La Petite-Nation in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2015 federal election. Lauzon worked at the Canadian International Paper Company in the 1980s, and returned to school in 1992 to become a certified vocational instructor. He worked in vocational training for twenty years thereafter, and then started a construction management company. He has since also taken classes toward a bachelor's degree in business administration at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. 2021 Gatineau Municipal Election
A municipal election was held in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada on November 7, 2021, in conjunction with the 2021 Quebec municipal elections held on the same day. Elections will be held for Mayor of Gatineau as well as for each of the 19 districts on Gatineau City Council. Mayor Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin announced he would not be running for re-election. 2009 Gatineau Municipal Election
A municipal election was held in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada on November 1, 2009 in conjunction with municipal elections across Quebec on that date. Elections were held for Mayor of Gatineau as well as for each of the 18 districts on Gatineau City Council. Controversies Signs in the Gatineau area-sponsoring Lucerne District Councillor candidate Barbara Charlebois posters were removed and vandalized due to her election poster being primarily in English. A similar act of vandalism was perpetrated on the offices of the Regional Association of West Quebecers, a not-for profit organization that support English-Speakers in the community, of which Charlebois is vice-president. Jean-Roch Villemaire, a former provincial candidate for the extreme-separatist Parti indépendantiste, took responsibility for both situations.
