"La terra dei cachi" is a 1996 single by Elio e le Storie Tese. Thanks to a live performance of this song, which represents a humorous take on Italian lifestyle, Elio e le Storie Tese acquired national notoriety by achieving a second-place finish at the Sanremo Music Festival 1996. "La terra dei cachi" also won the Critics' Award "Mia Martini" at the same festival. Elio e le Storie Tese (; literally "Elio and the Troubled Stories"), often abbreviated EelST, was an Italian comedy rock band from Milan, formed in 1980. Its leader was Stefano Belisari, better known as Elio. They announced their split on 17 October 2017, on Italian TV program ''Le Iene''. Liscio or ballo liscio ("smooth" or "smooth dance" respectively in Italian) is a genre of music originating in the 19th century in the northern Italian region of Romagna under the influence of Viennese ballroom dances including the mazurka, waltz, polka, schottische, march. Raoul Casadei (15 August 1937 – 13 March 2021) was an Italian bandleader, composer and musician. The leader for about 40 years of Orchestra Casadei, he was nicknamed "Re del Liscio" ('King of Liscio').
