''La mujer desnuda'' (''The Naked Woman'') is a Mexican drama film directed by Fernando Méndez. It was released in 1953 and starring Meche Barba and Antonio Aguilar. Plot A cabaret dancer, daughter of a circus clown, marries a famous singer. When everything seems to be happiness for both, a former lover of the young woman returns from her past to blackmail and not reveal her dark past. Meche Barba (born Mercedes Barba Feito; September 24, 1922 – January 14, 2000) was an American-born Mexican film actress and dancer of the Golden age of Mexican cinema in the 1940s and 1950s. She was considered one of the icons of the "Rumberas film". Early life Mercedes Barba Feito was born in New York City. She was born to Antonio Barba, a Spanish circus actor and a Mexican mother, Victoria Feito. The Barba family decided to go to Mexico to register her a citizen a few weeks after Meche's birth. She began her career in Mexico City's tent theaters at the age of six. José Pascual Antonio Aguilar Márquez Barraza (17 May 191919 June 2007) was a Mexican singer, actor, songwriter, equestrian, film producer, and screenwriter with a dominating career in music. He recorded over 150 albums, which sold 25 million copies, and acted in more than 120 films. He was given the honorific nickname "''El Charro de México''" (Mexico's Horseman) because he is credited with popularizing the Mexican equestrian sport '' la charrería'' to international audiences. María Victoria Gutiérrez Cervantes (born 26 February 1927 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Guadalajara, Jalisco) is a Mexican actress, singer, and comedian.
