''La Source'' (translated ''The Source'') is the fourth album from the French R&B singer Nâdiya. The album was released on November 12, 2007, and is a hits compilation. In total, the album features 5 new songs, including the first single " Vivre ou survivre", and new versions of several songs from her previous two albums. Nâdiya
Nâdiya (born Nadia Zighem on June 19, 1973) is a French R&B singer. Early life Nâdiya was born in the city of Tours, France. At school she displayed a talent for athletics, and gravitated towards the sport-studies section. In 1989, she won the title of Junior Champion of France's 800 metres. 2001–2005: Early commercial success The single "J'ai confiance en toi" (''I Trust You''), released in February 2001, became the first single that charted in the French Singles Chart, peaked at No. 38 in France and stayed in the chart for 13 weeks. The second single slated from the album did perform better than the first one. "Chaque fois" (''Every Time'') was released in August 2001 and peaked at No. 27 in the French Top 100 Singles, remaining in the chart for 18 weeks, five more than the first single. Smartzee is a French rapper born in Benin. Biography Smartzee became known to the general public due to his feature on the single "Et c’est parti" of French R&B singer Nâdiya. The single reached the top 5 French rankings for 22 weeks. He remade a duet in 2005 with Nâdiya for the song "All these words" which reached the 2nd place. "Signes" is a promotional single by the French R&B singer Nâdiya, featured on her 2004 studio album ''16/9''. The song was written by Thierry Gronfier, Mehdy Boussaïd, and Sindbad Ioualalen and produced by Thierry Gronfier. It was only released digitally Music video The music video starts in a desert, where a poor Nâdiya repeatedly falls on the sand, due to the drought, searching for water. Then, some clips are show where burglars enter a city in the desert and raiding the locals there. At the first chorus part, Nadiya is shown dancing in the desert, at night, richly dressed. "Roc" is a song recorded by the French-born singer Nâdiya, which appears on her self-titled third album ''Nâdiya''. The single was released as the second single from the album on June 19 in Switzerland and France, 2006, two weeks after the release of the album. ''16/9'' is the 2004 studio album by the French R&B singer Nâdiya. The album and singles off it were a huge success and very popular in France and Switzerland. The album remained for over 90 weeks on the French album chart, which is a remarkable achievement for an album. The album peaked at number six in its thirty-third week. After a year and seven months, the album was certified platinum by SNEP, the French certifier, which means it has sold over 300,000 copies in France. "Amies-ennemies" is a song recorded by the French R&B singer Nâdiya. It was released as the third single from her third studio album, ''Nâdiya'', on October 30, 2006. The song is harmonically based on the second theme of Frédéric Chopin's Waltz Op. 64, No. 2. It was a top five hit in France and Belgium (Wallonia).
