La Reina
La Reina ( Spanish: "The Queen") is a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region created in 1963 from an eastern portion of the Ñuñoa commune. It belongs to the Northeastern zone of Santiago de Chile. La Reina is a residential commune inhabited by mostly mid to upper-mid income families and high-income groups. The Eulogio Sánchez Airport and Military Hospital are both located in the southern part of the commune. Demographics According to the 1999 census of the National Statistics Institute, La Reina spans an area of and has 96,762 inhabitants (44,293 men and 52,469 women), and the commune is an entirely urban area. The Human Development Index (HDI) is a statistic composite index of life expectancy, education (mean years of schooling completed and expected years of schooling upon entering the education system), and per capita income indicators, which is used to rank countries into four tiers of human development. Purchasing power parity (PPP) is the measurement of prices in different countries that uses the prices of specific goods to compare the absolute purchasing power of the countries' currencies. PPP is effectively the ratio of the price of a basket of goods at one location divided by the price of the basket of goods at a different location. Eulogio Sánchez Airport ( es, Aeródromo Eulogio Sánchez) , also known as Tobalaba Airport, is an airport in La Reina, an eastern suburb of Santiago, Chile. It is two-thirds owned by the ''Club Aéreo de Santiago'' and one-third owned by the ''Club Aéreo de Carabineros de Chile''. Also, it holds the headquarters of Airbus Helicopters Chile S.A. The airport consists of 120 acres on the eastern edge of the Santiago metropolitan area.
